Large City based Insurance Company require a Senior UK Reporting Accountant

Responsible for the timely and accurate production for the UK Legal Entities results whilst supervising and supporting team members assisting in delivering UK Technical Reporting

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for supervising and assisting with technical US GAAP results for the syndicates, international & UK Hubs
• Assist with the review and clearance of management reporting deliverables
• Support external reporting team with analysis and explanation
• Support and assist with process improvements and documentation
• Implement and embed new controls
• Manage relationships with functions and within Finance

Successful City based Insurance Company requires a Part Qualified Accountant for a Group Accounting role.

Working in a small team you will be assisting in Group Reporting to the US Parent, Regulatory Returns, Statutory Accounts, effective cash flow/cash projections and other ad hoc work.

Overview

Annual and Quarterly Filing to the regulator for Solvency II for all entities. This will also involve assisting in the development of internal systems to efficiently produce pillar 3 reports as well as helping with the implementation and testing of Solvency II specific systems due to be introduced.

Overview of outsourced Gibraltar insurer accounting process including quarterly reconciliation between US GAAP and locally reported results.

Specific Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of solvency II infrastructure to meet the reporting requirements as efficiently as possible.
• Production of quarterly Solvency II returns.
• Production of annual Solvency II returns.
• Quarterly reconciliation on Gibraltar insurer to reconcile US GAAP result to locally reported result.
• Quarterly report on foreign exchange exposure including analysis of quarterly movements.
• Assist with branch reporting to Head Office, including detailed analysis of significant variances.
• Provide tax return data for international branches and manage tax ledgers.

Large City based Insurance Company requires a Qualified Accountant to join a Reporting and Analysis Team.

As part of the team you will be responsible for the Quarterly Close Process, allocating tasks, reviewing journals, preparing timetables and managing relationship with the Parent Company. Also responsible for Expense allocation, preparation of SBF, building of GAAP plan, review of expense plan and Supervision of Junior members of team.

This role requires an Analytical approach to gain full understanding of the numbers. Good Consolidation and FX understanding. Expenses experience, US GAAP Knowledge,  Insurance experience – Lloyds market experience preferred.

This role will report to and work closely with the CFO and will play a key role in the overall management of the Finance function for a Lloyd’s Managing Agency. The role will also include significant interaction with the UK management team as well as the US finance team.

The role involves specific responsibility for the preparation and review of all internally and externally required financial reports, and for the control environment over the underlying accounting processes.

• Qualified accountant with at least 10 years experience
• At least 5 years experience in financial reporting/controlling within an insurance environment
