Overview

Annual and Quarterly Filing to the regulator for Solvency II for all entities. This will also involve assisting in the development of internal systems to efficiently produce pillar 3 reports as well as helping with the implementation and testing of Solvency II specific systems due to be introduced.

Overview of outsourced Gibraltar insurer accounting process including quarterly reconciliation between US GAAP and locally reported results.

Specific Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of solvency II infrastructure to meet the reporting requirements as efficiently as possible.
• Production of quarterly Solvency II returns.
• Production of annual Solvency II returns.
• Quarterly reconciliation on Gibraltar insurer to reconcile US GAAP result to locally reported result.
• Quarterly report on foreign exchange exposure including analysis of quarterly movements.
• Assist with branch reporting to Head Office, including detailed analysis of significant variances.
• Provide tax return data for international branches and manage tax ledgers.

Skills & Experience Required

• CIMA qualified accountant or finalist.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience of Sun preferable.
• Strong analytical and review skills.
• Able to work on own initiative.
• Insurance/Reinsurance experience preferred.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Hugely successful London market insurer are looking for an Assistant Syndicate Accountant To undertake certain syndicate book-keeping, reconciliation, investment recording and related tasks in support of Syndicate Accountant and Finance Manager, whilst building the knowledge and experience to be able to take on further responsibility for syndicate accounting roles

Key Tasks:

• Maintain accounting records for managed and outsourced syndicates (as delegated)
• Assume responsibility for the preparation of reconciliation work e.g. bank balances, LCA balances and investment accounts
• Assist in the preparation of all Lloyd’s returns
• To produce monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Liaise with management, auditors and external clients as necessary
• Develop an understanding of the risks and controls relevant to the finance function, operate within the prescribed procedures and guidelines and report / discuss issues with the line manager.

Key Technical Skills:

• Preferably nearing completion of a relevant professional qualification.
• Good grasp of fundamental accounting principles.
• Familiarity with and some experience of Lloyd’s reporting requirements e.g. working knowledge of QMA, QMB returns and QMC/US and Canadian reporting requirements
• Sound knowledge of IT systems in use within Clients accounting function – especially Excel and preferably Vision and Sun Accounts.

Hugely successful London market insurer are looking for a Syndicate Accountant to undertake regulatory and monthly management reporting in respect of certain Lloyd’s entities in support of the Syndicate Finance manager, as required.

To build knowledge and experience to be able to develop further responsibility for syndicate accounting roles, as necessary.

Key Tasks:

• Review of input data and preparation, filing of all Lloyds Regulatory returns for Lloyd’s Syndicates, including Annual returns, Quarterly returns, US and Canadian Reporting (Including schedules F&P), US and Canadian SIS
• Prepare Syndicate board reports, P&L attribution and answer requests for finance information from Capital Modelling Actuaries.
• Planning and production of Syndicate annual report and accounts, management information and financial schedules
• Planning and preparation of monthly and quarterly accounting information, as required.
• Contribute to the development of systems for syndicate reporting with regard to FRS102/103 and Pillar 3
• Assist in the migration of key tasks to syndicate personnel and monitor the accuracy of their work
• Liaise with management, auditors and actuaries as necessary
• Assume responsibility for the management and execution of specified controls/action plans relating to risks, working closely with Risk Owners and the Risk Management team. This includes ensuring that control design is appropriate to the risk(s), the control operates as intended and reporting any issues to the Risk Owner

Key Technical Skills

• Qualified ACCA or equivalen
• Up to date experience of Lloyd’s syndicate reporting within an established Lloyd’s managing agency
• Proven ability in the preparation and completion of Lloyds Core Market returns and overseas reporting
• A knowledge of the requirements of FRS102/103 and Pillar 3
• Basic report writing and process documenting skills
• Sound knowledge of IT systems within clients accounting function: especially Microsoft Excel, Vision PMQA, Sun 6 Accounts.

Successful and growing Insurance Company requires a Qualified Accountant to assist Financial Controller.

The role requires you to prepare Monthly US GAAP / UK GAAP management accounts, Annual UK GAAP statutory reports, monthly and quarterly US Reports.

This is a broad role within a small team and involves managing a member of the team.

Candidates should be Qualified with previous Insurance experience, preferably Lloyds and Company Market. Sun Accounting experience beneficial.
